More Comfortable Treatment

At Youngify we believe that it is ethical and moral to support medically recommended pain relief during treatment.

Sometimes the best treatment option is one that is painful to receive.
One form of pain relief can be happy gass (Entonox). There are also other forms of pain relief that can be medically recommended.

The use of happy gass (Entonox) during physiotherapy is not new, there are examples in England and the United States of America, but as of 2020 it is new in Australia. Especially for this reason there may be questions raised, the extra information below is to help answer those questions, if you have any questions or would like more information please contact us

 An ethical and moral approach

At Youngify we strive to achieve the best results that we can for clients.

The most ethical and moral way we know how to apply very effective treatment is to allow clients an option of pain relief during treatments.

Reasons for pain relief

  • Compassion for clients to minimise their suffering when a treatment is working effectively

  • To allow for optimal rate of improvement

  • To minimise the delay improvements in clients problems due to the discomfort of treatments

  • To more easily allow clients to choose the benefits they want from treatment with maximum comfort

Options for types of pain relief

  • Over the counter pharmacy medications that clients can self administer like Panadol and Aniti-Inflammatories (nurofen/volatren etc)

  • Medically Prescribed medications for use prior, and/or following physiotherapy appointments

  • Medically Prescribed Nitrous Oxide gas mixture (Happy Gas) at specific times during appointments

Note: Safety rules, contraindications, precautions, recordings, monitoring and feedback are strictly adhered to with every client using analgesics during, and between, appointments at Youngify.

Why would some releases be painful?

There’s a saying ‘No Pain, No Gain’.

This is not necessarily true. Some manual therapy releases [treatments] we do at Youngify are not at all painful.

But, some people have built up strain in some parts of their bodies that has built up over a long period of time. Some people have strain build up in a short time with a traumatic accident. These body parts, such as muscles and joints, can be very painful to touch even with light pressure.

It is actually the nervous system that is irritated by the build-up of strain in a body part. This strain can be ‘released’ (treatment) and the nervous system calmed down with sensitive and specific types of manual therapy that we do at Youngify.

 Research Study

Youngify is conducting a research study into the effectiveness and safety of pain relief during physiotherapy treatment.

The use of nitrous oxide (happy gas) during physiotherapy is not new, there are many examples in England and the United States of America, but as of 2020 it is new in Australia.

See examples of studies using nitrous oxide gas in England and USA below:

We will be asking some clients if they are happy to take part in this study, both clients using the nitrous oxide and clients not using the medication. Every client is welcome to take part in this study or not take part without any questions or judgement.
