Do aches and pains really have something to do with getting older?

You might be surprised to learn about how much our age relates to our pains.

I regularly hear people rationalise their pain and say that they are 'just getting old'

That it's 'normal to have aches, pains, stiffness and tightness as we get older'

What if this perception is a myth?

What if it's not always about age?

"Musculoskeletal conditions are highly prevalent, affecting 30% (6.9 million) of all Australians in 2014–15" [AIHW]

The chances are that each of us at sometime in our lives have had, or are currently in pain,

no matter how old we are.

This week I saw a new client who is 16 years old and suffering postural neck and back pain that is interrupting their life.

I also saw a client this week who is 65-years old,

This client initially came to us for help with pain. Once his pain and condition improved, the client has seen us approximately four times a year for 16 years to prevent re-accumulation of factors, and they have nearly no aches, no pains, no stiffness and no tightness with all daily activities, including during exercise and bike riding.

I see that age is not a factor for these clients.

What if aches, pain, stiffness and tightness are not always about age?

What if we knew what caused them, and how to resolve them and prevent it from recurring?

The latest neuroscience explains why we can have pain,

at any age.

The foundations of this understanding are an accumulation of factors.

Often this accumulation involves muscle, joint and nerve gliding restrictions.

When assessing and treating using these neuroscience principles,

age is not a defining factor.

These factors (restrictions) can be rapidly solved, and aches, pain, stiffness and tightness are gone.

The key to maintaining the improvements life-long is to retrain movement habits,

to minimise re-accumulation of restrictions to the muscles, joints and nerves,

to move and feel young again,

and enjoy healthy activity for the rest of our lives.

In this video we see a young person getting immediate elimination of their pain.

And this works for any age, from 5 years old to 105 years old.

This is an example of assessing and treating using the latest neuroscience.
