Do you make this mistake with standing posture?
Do you make this mistake with standing posture?
A common concept I've helped clients with
is relieving tension in the back with optimal standing posture.
You may also like to relieve back tension.
I have a 1-minute challenge for you.
If you'd like to give it a go follow these steps.
1. Stand in a way that feels straight to you
2. Get a photo taken of yourself from side-on
Does your standing 'straightness' look more like the image (at the front of this post) on the left or the right?
It's most common for people to stand straight like the image on the right.
This comes as a shock to most clients who discover that this is their common standing posture.
Because it 'feels straight'.
But, this builds tension and strain on our back.
And when I ask clients to stand with 'straightness' the image on the left,
which is optimal and no tension or build of strain,
the most common comment is that,
"I feel like I am leaning backwards, it feels wrong."
What are you going to do if you feel wrong when you are doing something right?
I suggest that there is no time better than the present to practice many repetitions.
Typically, after 2000 repetitions of standing in this position
you will have a new habit and a new feeling,
where you feel straight when you are standing like the image on the left.
You may find that this is not comfortable to do,
in that case, I recommend you don't try to force it,
and see a practitioner to release what's blocking the easy movement.
At Youngfiy we want you to have this optimal standing posture for a long time.
