What is the solution for long lasting good movement and feeling younger?
Have you ever wondered why some pains come on for no apparent reason?
Last week a client said to me that his severe back pain came on during gardening the day before.
He said, "It seemed inconsequential at the time"
"Why such a disproportionate response?"
"I've done gardening frequently for many years with no problem that I was aware of"
I hear this often from clients,
that the action they just did, such as gardening, was something they have done previously with no problem.
So why did it cause them pain and difficulty bending this time?
Let me unpack it.
What was going on in the gardener’s body?
This gardener actually accumulated strain in his body over time.
When the strain got too much,
that's when he experienced "pain".
The pain was a warning signal from his nervous system that something was wrong.
At Youngify we see the de-accumulation of strain as the solution
for long-lasting good movement
and feeling young again.
How and when does strain accumulate in our bodies?
Let's consider not WHAT we have done
but HOW we have done it.
It’s habits of the way the gardener does things that counts,
not just while he gardens.
We do each activity with either accumulating strain with unhelpful habits
or de-accumulating strain with helpful habits.
It was how the gardener used his muscles while sitting at his office job for many years,
while playing golf,
while looking after his children.
When the level of strain was under a threshold he was pain-free.
When the level of strain built to push him over a threshold recently while gardening,
he suffered pain and restricted movement.
He was unable to walk straight, bend or lift without severe pain.
The good news is that with our approach
we were able de-accumulate that strain enough
to help this client get well below the threshold,
to achieve pain-free and have full movement
In less than 2 weeks
The gardener’s accumulated strain was impacting his daily life
and now that the strain is released he can move freely,
and feel younger.
You may be 60 (or 50, or 40, or any age) but you don’t have to feel like it.
